image Chess Voice - Innovation in Chess for Disabled

Blind players have had only analog clocks so far. During the last 5-7 years more and more electronic clocks have been used during international tournaments. In particular the fisher thinking time (increment) is a great convenience.

End of 2009 the President of the IBCA Mr Ludwig Beutelhoff asked us to help the blind chess players.

ECI invented the device “Chess Voice” in connection with the “Silver plus” being capable of outputting the thinking time via earbuds. The prototype was developed at the beginning of 2010 and in spring we discussed the prototype with blind players. After some further development in summer 2010 the “Chess Voice” was introduced during the Chess Olympics 2010 in Khanty Mansysk

  • Due to great success the chess voice is momentarily sold out.
